Abstract: “Obesity is costing Texas businesses $9.5 billion a year in health care, absenteeism, decreased productivity and disability.”  If this trend continues, these results of obesity could cost Texas businesses $32.5 billion a year by 2030.  Approximately two-thirds of Texans are considered overweight or obese Texas Comptroller Susan Combs is urging schools and lawmakers to educate youth about obesity.
