Founded in 2002, 2-1-1 Texas is a joint partnership between United Way Capital Area and the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. 2-1-1 provides confidential and free access 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to statewide information for health and human services, volunteer opportunities, disaster information and other community resources through a multilingual telephone helpline and website. 2-1-1 connects Texans to personalized information and makes referrals to more than 5,000 social service programs in a 10-county region.
