While nonprofits are strong community leaders and contribute over $600 billion to the national economy, there are some things this sector can learn from the social innovation movement.

This report highlights key ways that nonprofits can reinvigorate their organizations, by borrowing some strategies from social enterprises. Becoming innovative requires huge changes. Nonprofit’s goals, mindset and funding approach must all be revamped. This report argues nonprofits must lose the charity mindset, learn to finance not fundraise and make donors organization builders.
