Which of your personal traits is most important in making you a good leader?
Finding gifted individuals in areas of my weaknesses.
Was there a particular experience in your life that prepared you for leadership?
Growing up on the farm in Maryland required me to have to take responsibility early. I had no titles but I had responsibility to do the work.
What was the “aha” moment that got you started in your current career/line of work?
The 'aha' moment was when I started understanding the importance of the spiritual dimension of my life in determining character development, when I started understanding the difference between religion and a personal relationship with a living God through Jesus Christ.
When you were 10, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to play professional soccer or baseball.
How long have you lived in Austin? What brought you here?
I have lived in Austin for 34 years. The ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ to work with young business and professional leaders is what brought me to the area.
