LaVerne Rodriguez began working for El Buen Samaritano in March 2008 as human services manager.  As such, she supervises a staff of two and coordinates work of consultant and interns who provide counseling, case management and referral services to agency clients, assisting them toward self-sufficiency.  Additionally, her department integrates services for El Buen Samaritano’s primary care clinic, education, food pantry, outreach, Child Learning Center and education services.

Prior to working for El Buen Samaritano, LaVerne was the executive director at Extend-A-Care for Kids in Austin, Texas.  In this position, she directed a staff of more than 300 and was responsible for the leadership and management of the organization, including strategic planning, program, financial, human resources, marketing, community relations, development and fund raising, information systems, facilities and transportation, customer service operations and leasing and management of commercial office space owned by Extend-A-Care. She received a bachelor’s from the University of Delaware and a master’s in social work from the University of Pittsburg.
