What is the most rewarding thing about working in Social Service?
Receiving thank you notes from the children. Some send in photos with their requested items, some paint rainbows for the Board, and some of the older children send in written notes. They are all so appreciative, and I feel very blessed to be a part of this.
What is the most significant issue you would like to solve?
Every child deserves to be safe and happy. Period.
What is one thing that you want to tell the Austin community about your organization?
Foster Angels is dedicated to the well-being of kids in Austin, and because of that we make sure that 100% of every dollar donated goes directly to the children. We are here to stay, and we are not going to give up on these kids.
When you were 10, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a veterinarian, however that didn't last past career day when I fainted watching routine procedures. But I'll always be an animal lover!
What is your favorite Austin dining, entertainment or outdoor experience?
Austin has some of the best food around. There are too many great restaurants to pick a favorite! As for entertainment, I love to go dancing with my husband at the Broken Spoke.
