Which of your personal traits is most important in making you a good leader?
The personal traits that make me a good leader is my ability to communicate, collaborate, and be empathetic.
What are key things you'd counsel someone on in coming into the workforce?
I would encourage anyone entering the workforce to be cross trained in various areas, to know a little about a lot but be a master in one content area or field, be able to communicate and network effectively, never be afraid to ask the simple or hard questions, and always remember to be thankful and courteous to others. A simple thank you goes a long way.
What is the most rewarding thing about working in public/social service?
The most rewarding thing about working in public/social service is the ability to develop and implement programs and services that have a lifelong impact on a child's health. The education about health and wellness they learn in school is a lifelong skill that can be used throughout their life beyond K-12 and college.
What gadget can't you live without?
I cannot live without my HTC Evo. I love it. I can stay connected professionally through email (work and personal) and socially through the various social network sites (Facebook and Twitter). I love the ability to have information at my finger tips when I need it.
What are you best at and what do you love to do? How are they different?
I feel I am the best at coordinating and organizing. I'm very Type A and a Virgo, so coordinating programs, events, etc is my forte. Being a Virgo, I love to organize. My closet is organized by type, color, and season.
