About Gary Keil

“It’s extremely satisfying to be able to give kids hope, then see them grab the opportunity, overcoming tremendous odds to become shining examples. To see kids learn to become leaders is priceless.”

Gary Keil currently serves as Board President for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area. For the last nine years, Gary has served in many capacities, including member of the Operations Committee, various event committees and VP of Resource Development. Visiting with the Clubs’ staff and kids is a big part of Gary’s routine.

Gary has been in the construction business for more than 30 years. He graduated from University of Wisconsin with a BS degree in civil engineering and obtained his Master’s from Purdue University, then joined the Civil Engineer Corps, USN. He was Resident Officer in Charge of Construction at Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base, Fellow on the Secretary of Defense Staff, Pentagon, and Instructor, Civil Engineer Corps Officer School; the highlight was as Commanding Officer of Reserve Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 26. He retired as a Commander in the Naval Reserves. As a civilian, Gary has spent the past 30 years building hospitals. In 2002, he accepted a position with American Constructors, Inc. in Austin.

Gary has been married to Rebecca Isaacson for 36 years; they have three daughters, Brittany, Hillary and Ashley. Becky and Gary live in Wimberley, Texas on a 50-acre homestead dotted with longhorns, horses, dogs and cats. Becky runs the Meals on Wheels program for Wimberley, and for relaxation they enjoy working around their country home, spending time with their girls and taking Gary’s 1931 Model “A” Ford for a spin in the hill country.
