About Michael McMahan
Past President, Board of Directors - The First Tee of Greater Austin

Michael McMahan worked in the high tech industry for over 37 years. After his retirement from Texas Instruments in 2001, Mike worked with a number of startup companies, both as a consultant and a member of their Technical Advisory Boards, most recently with SyChip, a Dallas-based spinoff of Lucent which was sold to Murata in 2006. Mr McMahan also sat on the Board of Directors of Elk Corp, a NYSE-listed building materials company, from 2001 until its sale in 2007. Mr McMahan holds a S.B. in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois.

Mike and his wife Maxine have two children and three grandchildren. He resides in Austin, Texas, and serves on the Board of Directors of the First Tee of Greater Austin. He is also a member of the USGA Mid-Amateur Championship committee and acts as a USGA Rules Official at both local and national events. From 2008-2010, he also served on the Board of the Texas Golf Association.
